Arrival — the beginning of every journey

Not every collector connects with the same two destinations.

Some are drawn to the traditions, food, and landscapes of Japan.

Others feel at home beside the beaches, city streets, and surf culture of Los Angeles.

Some carry a deep connection to Hawaii’s ocean, volcanic land, island stories, and sense of place.

Build Your Explorer’s Bundle allows you to choose the two chapters that matter most to you.

The best collection is the one shaped by your own sense of adventure.

A Note from the Artist

Choose the Two Journeys That Belong Together

From the Studio · First Edition

Each Duck & Compass destination has its own visual language.

Japan is built around tradition, detail, friendship, food, and the quiet power of cultural discovery.

Los Angeles moves through airports, city streets, beaches, surfboards, humor, and the restless energy of the Pacific Coast.

Hawaii carries ocean, volcanic landscapes, forests, island stories, navigation, community, and respect for place.

I originally grouped Japan and Los Angeles together, but the more complete collection made something clear:

The customer should be able to decide which two journeys belong together.

Build Your Explorer’s Bundle gives you that choice.

Every artwork began by hand, every destination was built as a complete chapter, and every finished bundle is prepared with the same care as the individual collections.

Thank you for choosing the two journeys that mean the most to you.

Creative Process

From Sketchbook to Expedition

Every card begins as an original work of art — sketched by hand, painted in watercolor and ink, and carried from the studio into the world.

The First Sketch

The idea begins in the sketchbook — Robert and Mike taking shape on the page, the first lines of their Japan journey.

II

The Painting

The journey is painted by hand — watercolor and ink bringing Mount Fuji, torii gates, and festival nights to life.

— studio note

Watercolor portrait painting of two anthropomorphic birds in matching black suits and ties against a deep reddish-brown background
III

The Collection

The finished artwork becomes a physical card — each painting translated into a collectible piece of the expedition.

The Journey Continues

Every expedition leaves its mark. Your Ambassador Credential is more than a keepsake. It's the beginning of your story as a member of the Duck & Compass Society.

What Collectors Say About Timothy’s Work

Authentic reviews from collectors of Timothy Colomer’s original and commissioned artwork.

“I commissioned a piece that represented a brush with death on a deployment. Tim was incredible listening to me and he was an absolute maniac—the time lapse was cool AF—getting the idea onto paper in a single night. He knocked it out of the park and I’m incredibly happy with the art.”

Michael Crenshaw

Commissioned military artwork

“Absolutely incredible. I commissioned Tim with a price in mind and an idea. He took the idea and brought it to life so much so that I began crying when I opened the painting for the first time.”

Griffin Mathis

Commissioned artwork

“We were entranced by his work, story, and inspiration in why he paints. We fell in love with his piece “All Grown Up.” It’s the first thing you see when you walk into our home, and it has not failed to be appreciated upon seeing it.”
