Japanese Rocker

Explorer · Mt. Fuji, Station 5

"I met Japanese Rocker at Station 5 of Mt. Fuji. He told me about his motorcycle adventure across Japan — the kind of ride that turns a country into a story. I handed him a card from the Japan Expedition and he promised to carry it with him, all over Japan, introducing The Duck & Compass Society to his friends at every stop."

The Artist & The Process

From Original Painting to Finished Expedition

Every card begins as an original watercolor by Timothy Colomer.

The Artist

Timothy Colomer

Timothy Colomer is the artist behind every Duck & Compass Society painting. For the Japan Expedition, he traveled through Tokyo, Kyoto, Mount Fuji, and the surrounding region, sketching what he saw and painting what he felt.

Each card in the collection is professionally reproduced from an original watercolor using archival inks selected to preserve the color, texture, and character of the artwork. From the first sketch through scanning, production, packaging, and the final wax seal, the complete process takes weeks, not days.

Every expedition passes through his hands before beginning its next journey.

Collector Trust

What Collectors Say About Timothy's Work

Authentic reviews from collectors of Timothy Colomer's original and commissioned artwork.

“I commissioned a piece that represented a brush with death on a deployment. Tim was incredible listening to me and he was an absolute maniac—the time lapse was cool AF—getting the idea onto paper in a single night. He knocked it out of the park and I’m incredibly happy with the art.”

Michael Crenshaw

Commissioned military artwork

“Absolutely incredible. I commissioned Tim with a price in mind and an idea. He took the idea and brought it to life so much so that I began crying when I opened the painting for the first time.”

Griffin Mathis

Commissioned artwork

“We were entranced by his work, story, and inspiration in why he paints. We fell in love with his piece “All Grown Up.” It’s the first thing you see when you walk into our home, and it has not failed to be appreciated upon seeing it.”
